Spring Updates and Events…

Purple Day is March 26th. Purple Day is a worldwide day dedicated to epilepsy awareness. It highlights the fact that 1 in 26 people will develop epilepsy in their lifetime. On March 26, people across the world wear purple to show support for those living with epilepsy and to help spread awareness & understanding.

If you are near Intrust Bank Arena this month, look up and you will see a special Purple Day message displayed on the arena sign all month long in support of epilepsy awareness. Thank you to Intrust Bank Arena and the Epilepsy Foundation of Missouri and Kansas for helping shine a light on the

1 in 26.

Our community also has several opportunities to get involved.

Kayven’s Helping Hands will host a Free Seizure Recognition and First Aid Training on Monday, March 23 at 6:00 PM at the Mulvane Public Library. This one hour class will teach how to recognize different types of seizures and what to do to help keep someone safe. Participants will receive a certificate of completion from the Epilepsy Foundation of Missouri and Kansas. To sign up, email CelebrateKayven@gmail.com.

We are also excited to highlight another local nonprofit, Seize Your Future Foundation, which provides scholarships to individuals living with epilepsy. They are hosting a Purple Mini Golf Awareness Day on March 28 from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Mega Pines Mini Golf in Andover. The event will feature mini golf, raffles, face painting, henna tattoos, walking tacos, and family friendly fun while raising awareness for epilepsy. 💜

The Epilepsy Foundation of Missouri and Kansas supports individuals and families living with epilepsy through education, resources, advocacy, and community programs. They work to increase awareness, provide seizure first aid training, and help connect families with support and information.

Thanks to the helpers at Primrose Wichita East and Primrose Wichita West, more than 1,600 books were donated to Kayven’s Helping Hands.

Kayven was a proud Primrose preschool alumni and loved every minute there. He especially loved show and tell days when he could show off his rocks or when he got to be the weather watcher.

Thank you to the students, families, and teachers who made this incredible book drive possible. Because of you, hundreds of kids will soon discover new adventures through reading. 💜

Raffle Donation Needed:

We are seeking in kind raffle donations that help families create fun memories together. Ideas include Family Game Night baskets with games and snacks, Family Camp Out packages with outdoor gear or s’mores kits, Family Art or craft activities, Family Entertainment or Movie Night packages, sports themed fun, or adventures around town such as zoo passes, museum memberships, attraction tickets, or activity gift cards. If you have something fun for families or kids, we would love to include it in our Family Adventures raffle. 💛

Celebrate Kayven Call for Vendors:

Child focused organizations are invited to participate in Celebrate Kayven at Field Station Dinosaur Park. This free community event connects families with local organizations that support children and families.

There is no cost to participate. Vendors must provide a simple activity for children and may not sell products or services. Join us in creating a fun and engaging experience for families. Email: CelebrateKayven@gmail.com
